One Coupon Good For A Range Rover

ah, Michael. Such a great guy. Life has been challenging for this awesome little family and they needed a win, if you will. Their win....came in the form of a coupon exchanged for a 2025 Range Rover Sport - white on white with tan interior. It's beautiful and a very awesome win.

So how did it start....

I think we can say it started about a month after getting rid of their Velar. ha. Their big beautiful house has turned out to be a little bit more "metropolitan" than expected which has created a sense of limited space. Not the openness and freedom they thought it would bring. Their Audi Q3s have both provided the same feeling. Lisa missed her large and in charge feeling of the Range Rover Velar and the comfy ride it delivered. Mix that with the extreme, non stop pain that Lisa has been experiencing and you get a longing for some kind of win.

With the long drives up to Westwood approaching and an opportunity to bring a smile to her face...Ry and I opted to Turo (rent) some cars Lisa has been daydreaming about. Simply to give her something positive to focus on and be excited about and also to deliver a comfy ride for her in that 2-3hr each way drive.

The Cars

The Velar - was awesome. But it definitely shrunk from the original size that Lisa and Michael had. But it drove great. I was quite impressed. The inside was beautiful and clean. A very nice modern look.

The Defender - awesome as well But it definitely has a utilitarian look and feel to it. Not knocking it just a different feel. It was louder than the velar. With the windshield shooting straight up...there is absolutely no aerodynamics involved in its design. ha.

The Range Rover Sport - the winner. It is a bigger more luxurious version of the Velar. Stood higher. Road smoother and had excelllence in engine power. It just goes with no strain - no herky jerky movement. I was really impressed.

The Coupon

For Lisa's birthday Michael handed her her usual hand written card and a hand drawn coupon - good for one Range Rover Defender or Sport of her choice.

The Deal

Everyday in excitement, even prior to the coupon...Lisa was checking out the inventory and "deals" on Range Rover's Newport Beach website. She came across a lease deal that expired February 1 so she let Michael "know about it". He was cool with it so he reached out to the dealership and that's when Ted entered our lives. Ted Swartz.

Unfortunately, despite what the website said....Ted came back to Michael in text and told him they didn't have a vehicle that they could match the lease deal to. Didn't make sense...we read the fine print but ok, whatever Ted. Michael said, "no problem...call me when you can." Ted comes back a few days later with a lower monthly lease deal..."thanks Ted, but call me when you can do my lease numbers." A few more days later....ted calls. They can do Michael's numbers. Lisa and I plan to see the car in two days on the way home from her specialists appointment in Westwood.

The Inspection

I test drove it. It was very confusing to Ted. So tell me again who the car is for as he sat in the back and I was in the driver's seat for the test drive. Lisa said - for me. and left it at that.

I said something to Lisa about checking out the car and wanting her to make sure she's aware of everything the car has or doesn't have so she likes it for all three years as we were getting into the car. We get in, she shuts the door and says to me "ya, I'm going to get it." bahahahahaha.
